October 2026. Sphnix, Inc. today announced Bhava 2.0, a full redesign of its Vedic-astrology matrimony app for iPhone. Bhava 2.0 replaces endless browsing with a small, curated Drop each evening, and every person in it has already been scored against the user’s birth chart on the 36-point Ashtakoota system that Indian families have used for generations.
Bhava 2.0 is available now on the App Store, as a free update for current members.
A founder’s story
Bhava’s founder, Himanshu Batra, describes the app as the meeting point of three worlds he taught himself: programming, which he calls creation; fitness, which he calls destruction; and astrology, which is the study of time.
“Building things taught me that creation is only the beginning,” he said. “Keeping an idea alive, through the days when nothing works, is where the real cost is.” After a run of failed relationships, Batra taught himself astrology to understand why things fell apart. “What I found was beautiful: a way of understanding two people that our ancestors refined over generations.”
“Can relationships still break? Of course they can. But the paths our ancestors walked still have so much to teach us. Bhava is the past and the present, moving into the future together, so people can find someone their stars agree with and carry our traditions forward for the generations after them.”
What’s new
- Tonight's DropFive hand-picked people every evening at 7 (seven with Bhava Plus). Look at each one properly, decide, and the Drop ends until tomorrow.
- The score, in plain wordsEvery match shows a score out of 36, with each of the eight checks explained simply. Doshas are always flagged, even when the total is high.
- Your cosmic ID and chartNew members see their birth chart in the first two minutes, with the parts that matter for matching highlighted.
- Likes and chats that keep goingSee who liked you, reply to someone's answers, and get “You two, in depth” with good dates to meet.
- A view built for parentsFamily members get their own larger-type app: their child's matches, “Check a rishta” for any birth details, and private notes.
- Safety stays firstPhone verification, photo moderation, report and block on every profile and chat. Parents can never message anyone or pose as their child.
“Every young Indian has had the same conversation with their mum: nice profile, but did you match kundalis? Bhava does that check first, so people can spend their time on matches that could actually work, and bring their family in on their own terms.”
Availability
Bhava is free on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android, with optional Bhava Plus subscriptions. Bhava 2.0 is available now as a free update. Both stores are linked from the Bhava homepage.
