How Bhava works
Built so you stay in charge
Each of these is how the app works for everyone, not a setting you have to go looking for.
Only a mutual yes opens a chat
Nobody can message you unless you have both said yes. Say “not for me” and there is no chat for anyone to write in.
A chat is opened by Bhava itself, only when both of you said yes.
Your number stays yours
Your phone number is never on your profile. In chat, phone numbers, emails and handles that someone types are hidden. A number is shared only on purpose, by the person it belongs to.
“Share your number” opens after 30 messages in a chat, and it’s always your choice.
Selfies approved by a person
To verify, a member takes a selfie that someone on our team compares with their profile photos. No selfie is approved by software alone. The selfie is never shown on a profile.
Verified profiles carry a badge.
Family helps, on your terms
Only if you invite them. They see who you’ve matched with and the Kundali for each, and can leave you notes. They can’t read your chats or message anyone.
Remove them any time, from You › Family.
Chat photos open once
Every photo sent in a chat opens one time, for ten seconds. There is no photo in a chat that stays to be looked at again.
Step back whenever you like
Report or block anyone from their profile or a chat; the person you block isn’t told. Pause your profile to take a break, or delete your account, all inside the app.
City by city
Women never wait. You help open your city.
Bhava opens one city at a time, when enough women there have finished their profile and had their selfie approved. Women are never put on a waiting list. Get the app, finish your profile, and you count towards opening your city. Introductions start when it opens; until then there may be none yet, and your profile is ready for the day it does.
- Your profileYour name, a photo of you, and your birth date, time and place for the Kundali.
- Your phone numberVerified with a code. It is never shown on your profile.
- Your selfieAbout two minutes. A person on our team approves it.
Your date, time and place of birth are used for the score. They are never shown on your profile or to anyone’s family.
The Kundali score, simply
Know his score before you say yes
Every introduction is scored out of 36 on all eight Ashtakoota kootas, worked out from both birth charts: the system your pandit uses.
- Nadi8/8
- Bhakoot7/7
- Gana6/6
- Graha Maitri4/5
- Yoni2/4
- Tara1/3
- Vashya1/2
- Varna0/1
What the total means
The eight checks add up to 36. A higher total means more of them line up. Nobody scoring under 18 is introduced.
- Under 18Never introduced
- 18–24Good match
- 25–32Strong match
- 33–36Excellent match
Doshas are always flagged
Nadi, Bhakoot and Manglik doshas are shown plainly, even when the total is high, for a word at home or with your pandit.
One signal, not a verdict
A score can’t promise a good marriage, and a lower one doesn’t mean a bad match. It’s one thing to weigh, next to the person and how the two of you get on.

Questions women ask
Straight answers
Is Bhava safe for women?
Bhava is for adults, 18 or older, who want to marry. A chat opens only when you both say yes. Your phone number is never on your profile, and numbers typed into a chat are hidden. A person on our team approves each selfie verification. You can report or block anyone from their profile or a chat, and our team reviews every report.
What stays private?
Your phone number isn’t on your profile. Your verification selfie is never shown on your profile. Your date, time and place of birth are never shown on your profile or to anyone’s family: others see your age and what your chart says. Notes from your family are for you alone; the person they’re about never sees them. Every photo sent in a chat opens once, for ten seconds.
Who sees my profile?
The people Bhava introduces you to, in their evening Drop. Every introduction is scored on both Kundalis, and nobody under 18 of 36 is introduced. If someone you matched with, or who said yes to you, has invited their family, that family can see your profile too, never your chats or your number. Family you invite see your matches, not other people’s.
Can my family see my chats?
No. Only the two people in a chat can read it. Family joins only if you invite them. They see who you’ve matched with and the scores, leave you notes and suggest people. They can’t message anyone, and you can remove them any time from You › Family.
What if my city isn’t open yet?
You can still join today. Women are never put on a waiting list: get the app and finish your profile, and you count towards opening your city. Introductions start when it opens, so until then there may be none yet.
Who can message me first?
Nobody you haven’t said yes to. A chat opens only when you both say yes. After that, anyone can reply in a chat; sending the very first message in a new chat is part of Bhava Plus.
What does it cost?
Bhava is free to use on iPhone and Android, with up to five introductions every evening and one family member. Bhava Plus is optional: up to seven introductions, up to five family members, and more. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
