  • Not a public page
  • No deck, ever

The dating app that passes the family test.

Bhava is dating for the Indian diaspora, matched on Vedic compatibility first and everything else second. Seven introductions a day, one city at a time, parents welcome. Live on iOS and Android, built and run by one founder.

Tonight’s DropA Kundali score on every card, and a view-once photo.

Tonight's Drop, recorded in the app.

  • 4,210members with a finished profile
  • 138cities, nearest city always
  • 21creators in the ambassador programme
  • $0spent on paid acquisition so far

Live counters, same ones the team sees. Updated nightly.

Before anything else

There is no deck. There never will be.

You get the app on your phone, the numbers on this page, and thirty minutes on video with the founder. That is the whole pitch. If a decision needs slides, we are not the right fit for each other, and that is fine.

  • The app is the deck

Download it, make a profile, wait for 7 pm. Everything we would put on a slide is better seen in the Drop.

  • Numbers are live

The counters above come from the same place the team reads them. Cohorts and retention come up on the call, with the app open.

  • You talk to the person who built it

One founder, every line of code, every email. No associate screening, no intro deck, no follow-up sequence.

The product

A Drop at 7, not a feed.

No swiping. Every evening each member gets seven introductions chosen for them, scored on their birth chart and on what they said they want. They reply, or they wait for tomorrow.

Chat, then a ParchiRead ticks, a photo, and a folded note from a verified woman.
Unfold a ParchiShe writes first. He unfolds it one at a time.
Parchi, the storyThe store preview, with titles.
  1. Chart first

The filter desi families already use, done properly and explained in plain words. Nobody else on the app stores does this.

  2. Parents in the room

Parchi lets a member share one profile with family and get a note back. Parents are a channel, not an obstacle.

  3. One city at a time

A city opens when it has enough people. Every member sees the nearest open city. Density before breadth.

Why now

Five million second-generation desis, dating on apps built for someone else.

They use the same apps as everyone, then go home to a family that asks for a chart. The big matrimonial sites serve the parents. The big dating apps serve nobody in that house. The gap is the product.

  • The wedge

Vedic compatibility is the one feature a general app can't bolt on without alienating its base. For us it's the reason to open the app and the reason to tell a cousin.

  • The moat

Density per city plus family trust. Once the aunties know the name, acquisition costs go to zero in that city. Ambassadors get us to the first aunties.

Traction

Shipped, not planned.

  1. Sep 2026MVP on the App Store. First city opened.
  2. Oct 2026Android approved. 2.0 redesign. 138 metro areas live. Parchi, Namaste in 7, face check.
  3. Late OctAmbassador programme live: creators paid per approved post, tracked by code. 21 in, first posts up.
  4. Nov 2026Plus switching on city by city. Walks interest test running.
  5. NextThree cities past 1,000 members. First paid cohort. Walks in one city.

What the numbers say

Headline is members, not accounts: people who finished a profile with a photo. Conversion from account to member is the metric the team runs on, and it moved from 38% to 61% after the onboarding rebuild in October.

First thousand came from press, search and creators, with no paid acquisition. Cohorts and retention come up on the call, with the app open. There is no deck.

Business

Three ways money comes in. One is live.

  1. Plus

Monthly subscription. See the whole Drop, a second city, Namaste in 7. Switched on per city once the Drop is full.

  2. A Drop before 7

One-time extra Drop when tonight's isn't enough. Small, impulse, high margin.

  3. Walks and Concierge

Paid invite-only city meetups and a high-touch tier for members who want a person on their side. Tested, not launched.

No prices on this page. They live in the app.

Founder

One person, every line of it.

Himanshu Batra built Bhava alone: iOS, Android, the web, the backend, the Admin, the ads, the press. Previously founded and ran consumer and B2B products; the full story is on the press page.

Looking for a small number of investors who know the diaspora, know consumer, or both, and who want to be useful before the round, not after.

Questions we get

Short answers.

Are you raising right now?

Not formally. We're meeting people who'd want to be in the first round, and taking a small number of angel cheques when it's obviously a fit.

Why one founder?

Speed and cost. Everything on this page shipped in under three months with no payroll. The first hires are a second engineer and someone on the ground in the first three cities.

Isn't astrology a niche?

It's the default in the house for most of the diaspora, whether or not the kids believe in it. We treat it as a shared language, not a prediction.
