Why your Drop might be empty right now, and what is really going on
If you opened Bhava at 7 pm and found no one, or a screen that says your city is waiting, I owe you a straight answer. Nothing is broken, and nobody has hidden you. Bhava is new, and we made a choice that makes the first weeks slower: we only introduce real, verified people. Here is exactly how that works, why your Drop can be empty today, and what changes it.
How a Drop is made
Every evening at 7 pm in your time zone, Bhava sends you a Drop: a short list of people near you, each with a Kundali match score. To be in anyone's Drop, a person has to be complete. That means a photo, a verified phone number, and a selfie that a real person on our team has checked against their photos.
That last step matters. It is why the people you meet on Bhava are who they say they are. It also means that on a quiet evening in a quiet city, there may be no one who passes all of it yet. When that happens your Drop is empty, not because something went wrong, but because we would rather show you no one than show you someone fake.
Why we do not fill the gap
Most dating apps look busy on day one. Some of that is people who signed up once and never came back. Some of it is worse. We decided early that we would not pad your screen with unverified profiles, recycled photos or accounts that will never reply. An empty Drop is honest. A full one made of ghosts would waste your evenings and your trust.
Your city is waiting, and you keep your place
Bhava opens city by city. A city opens for introductions once verified women have joined there. Until then, members in that city wait, and the app tells you so. The moment your city opens, you get a notification and your first Drop arrives that evening.
Right now far more men than women have joined in most cities. That is the single biggest reason a Drop is empty. It is also the thing we are working hardest to change.
If you delete your profile while you wait, you start over. If you stay, you are already there, complete and verified, the evening your city opens.
What you can do today
- Finish your profile. Add your photo, verify your phone and take the selfie. An incomplete profile is not shown to anyone, even in an open city. The app shows you what is missing.
- Invite someone. A sister, a cousin, a friend who is also looking. Every verified woman who joins in your city brings it closer to opening, for her and for you.
- Share it with your family. Many of our members found us through a parent. Families are some of the best people at finding a good match.
- Use Check a match. You can check your Kundali match with anyone, today, from the You tab.
If you are a woman
Once your selfie is approved, you count toward opening your city. Your profile is checked by a person, your chats cannot be screenshotted on Android and both people are told on iPhone, and view-once photos are truly deleted. You decide who you hear from.
What we are doing about it
We are spending our time and money on bringing more women and more families to Bhava, in the cities where members are already waiting. Bhava is now on both iPhone and Android, which opens India and many more places. We review selfies within a few hours, usually within 2 to 8, so no one waits on us.

I built Bhava because I wanted introductions to mean something. That takes a little patience at the start, and I know patience is a lot to ask when you have opened an app hoping to meet someone.
